These ware at the points indicated in the photo and make it impossible to open the door. Has anyone got a fix for this. The slot widens and the lever will no longer move. There is a slot on both sides of the assembly.

I needed a RH unit for a rebuild a few years ago. Mini King had some NOS items at the time.
The only other alternative was to pull one apart and weld up the wear points. A much longer effort...

Thanks Bill B. I have managed to remove the 4 solid countersunk aluminium rivets but am wondering where to buy replacements and a tool to flare over the end.

Larry - John Smidt doesn't have any more NOS of these but he does have good second-hand ones. The passenger side assemblies are in better nick than the driver's side because they got less use.

John's contact details are now in the Mini Businesses folder - viewtopic.php?f=41&t=83593

I think they are handed (not just second-handed) but could possibly be pulled apart and reversed. If you have pulled one apart to repair it, I would consider replacing the rivets with small machine screws and nuts or even a small blob of weld?

Countersunk aluminium rivets are used in aircraft maybe try a local glider club or try a local airfield. I got some domed rivets from a guy who flew gliders.

Look up solid rivet https://nhtb.com.au/rivets-solid-rivets.html

I like Bill’s idea of screw/nut though so you can take apart again if needed

Here is what the rivet lloks like following removal.

After I get replacements, I will then need a tool to bang the rivet so it will stay in place. Who knows where I will find that!

A ball bearing of larger diameter than the rivet, or rounded-off the end of a bolt or similar (done in a bench grinder) should flare the rivet.

How did you get on with this? I have started rebuilding mine now but even after welding the front and rear plates, it still tilts the pin in its channel rather than sliding smoothly. I may need to weld up my arm too, where it has worn over time it is now angled so may be contributing to this.
