Been looking around at alot of photos resently, but can not seem to find many mini's in Squadron blue? I have seen a few moke's and a few round shnozes in it but my clubman is the only one I have seen, Was it an "unpopular" colour? is it a rare colour? does anyone have a mini in it?

The experts might tell you differently, but I can't even find a listing for 'squadron blue' anywhere!

Looks like Adriatic Blue to me. Nice colour, too!

I know the feeling of having an orphan colour. My Clubman is BMW 2002 Colorado Orange for some reason.

Squadron Blue is listed on page 20 of the BMC color charts http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=66469

I knew someone would find that as soon as I posted!

Amazing how often they changed colours.

Hobson.

I have a Squadron Blue Leyland in my shed. Oct '78 build.

Has a terrible top coat outside, but the engine bay and in the corners is original. Not a bad colour for stock. A little bit of a grey tinge.

Cheers
Alex.

It just seems that it is a "rare" colour, It seems to be a Mini colour from what I have seen, and Alex confirms that, it just seems odd that there aren't many sporting it.

Mine appears to have had some small repairs during her lifetime, but they seem a good match. I have found the SB colour changes in the light. I rather like that it does.

EDIT - image size lol.

I'm rescuing a 78 van that came factory with squadron blue. I can see it in the engine bay. Unfortunately the previous owner has done a spray can blue on the outside.

There was a very disturbed clubman in squadron blue a local wreckers 20 odd years ago. I have quite a few parts from it on a scarlet ohara red clubman here.
The blue one was crushed when the wreckers closed 10 or 15 years ago.
