Hi All, has anybody got a current paint code for the horrible gold engine colour that the mini Deluxe engines were painted.
The local paint shop are not interested in colour matching it, nor do they seem to have the experience to.

This is the remnants of the original paint.

I had green metallic engine enamel mixed by Macarthur Discount Paints 2/17 Watsford Rd Campbelltown.
They said they had to formula for the Gold metallic too.
This was Hi-Chem brand paint and this outlet was one of the few remaining shops to carry their enamel mixing system. However they have been taken over by Rustoleum and I have heard Rustoleum have ceased business in Aust.

Suggest you go to another auto paint shop. Matching to a sample is a fundamental service of a good business.

Do you have the rocker cover for that engine? If so, give it a good clean, especially the rear that has less exposure to light, and find another paint shop. They should be able to do it in 24 hours and supply you with paint in a can for brushing (or spraying) or aerosol spray cans.
