Hi guys, just wondering if you could help out, Is there a difference between the Mk 1 Cly head compared with the Mk 2, and what are they?

I have a Cooper S head that has been cleaned and crack tested OK, hence want to be able to give correct info for advertising.

Thanks Col.

Part number cast on top-
12G163 is MK 1
Edit no it's AEG 163
2A185 is very early MK 1

12G940 is MK 2, casting shared with other 1275 motors. eg. Morris 1100S.
Cooper S head usually stamped 12G1805 near thermostat.

A bit more trivia.
IIRC, very early MK1 heads were painted yellow under the rocker cover and later heads were painted blue.
Yellow ones were modified to improve ?????? cooling or cracking or ???? - (kraft disease problem)
I can't access the Special Tuning docs right now which have more info.
