i have a 1310 motor in my mini and last year i bought a 42DCOE weber. is a 42 weber too small for a 1310? would fitting it make the car faster (currently a 1.5" su) or does it need to be a 45 ?

i think you would be better off with the 42weber over the 1.5su but you would probally be better off getting a 45

The 42 weber is an exccellent choice,,,perfect for performance on a 1310

I'd agree with the TheMiniMan. I have a 40DCOE on my 1430 (yes, I will upgrade to a 45) and that works briliantly with the right jets, so I would say that a 42 is perfect for a 1310.

For a roadie 1310, you would choke it back to 34 or 36mm anyhow, so a 42 is perfect. 8)

I'd honestly stay with the filter you got 64, as i had to mod the firewall to get the weber to fit without fouling on the firewall...... as that is the filter i have on Slidey (Prices from $90 odd up to $125 i have seen)

Also i think that the air drawing capacity is minimized on that particular Filter   .... but i put it on as it looks sweet....... ricey excuse i know

I think Pipercross and Uni or FinerFilter has been mentioned as the best choices

I'd do a google search or ask around where your local K&N Filter supplier is....

I hope you are thinking about firewall modifications because that is what you may need to fit that filter...

Manifold is ok,,,i do give them a tickle with the port & polish tool first tho,,,but for a mild roady 1310 you could just bung it on.

i`m not a fan of K&N filters at all really ,,, But,!!! the Ramflow one isn`t very good either (for differing reasons) , but, if you had the coice between those 2 ,,,then i`d run the Ramflow one that`s allready on there, it will "Just" clear the baulk head & won`t creat too much of an issue in tuning.

Not much room there, really- not even room for a pair of UniFilter socks, unless you stick them thru the speedo hole...!
I use a Ramflo casing with a Finer Filter foam in it. Good, but now NLA. Maybe UniFilter (who bought out Finer Filter) make pads for them now. I dunno- they won't answer messages sent to their website....

I've got a 45mm Dellorto, which is way to big for my mild lil 1100...

Downside is that it's slightly leaky, and probably just needs a new gasket set through it.

I'll get some photos later, but i'd be happy to swap for a decent running 40mm weber or something.

Just sick of this whole 'Not Running" thing my engine is doing. :(
