This can definitely be an issue. Clean ALL paint from the nut seats. Check the back face of the wheels while your at it. You don’t want paint on where they seat against the hub.

Will do. Strange, I used to be a tyre fitter and we never needed to do this the new wheels. Anyhow will give it a go

Paint on the nut or wheel hole faces acts as a boundary lubricant. Not what you want.
