Has anyone experienced this kit and how did it turn out?

I've got a pair of those Hilos as well as some others, the flange that mates to the rubber cone is machined as a 90 degree step not radiused pout like the original cones or some older versions of Hilos as I think Matt Read has posted this makes the springs very harsh, it could be useful in some contexts but not ideal for ride and comfort.
Other than that it looks pretty standard, I use KYB gasAdjust dampers as they are a good price and seem to work very well.

Further investigations reveal I would also need to replace the subframes.

No you don't, we converted my mate's Deluxe to dry suspension.
And we used the wet arms front and back too.
I fitted 3/8" grade 8 bolts to the rear arms for lower shock mounts.
