Soon replacing the oil filter on my Mk2 S. The new Ryco filter unfortunately doesn't come with the seal washer that goes under the element plate, nor the seal ring under the canister body. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of these so I can pick up new ones (Repco/ Supercheap Auto)?

If you have trouble buying the seals separately you could always buy another type that comes with the seals and reuse those seals at the next filter change.

Take the Ryco back and get a refund.
Buy a filter with the correct seals.

Ryco doesn't care about quality.

I see Repco does a filter that includes the seals. Will give that a go and reuse the seals for the subsequent change.

Had the same problem with Ryco filters for the S and the K. This is a possible option on the Mini Spares site. I have been using these O rings and flat washers for the last few years. Will need more soon. Local suppliers will possibly have them too.

http://www.minispares.com/search/classic/508380.aspx

The S canister has a deep recess for the thicker outside seal. Some flat washers are not thick enough to crush down properly.

Bill B - Minispares and Minisport both out of stock on the internal seal 7H28. Available through Somerset Mini UK.

Damned CoVid hoarders.

I looked this morning but didn't check stocks. Sorry to mislead you.
I do reuse the internal one sometimes as it isn't under much load and if it leaks it is internal.
The O rings should be around as they aren't unique (unless a very odd size).

Oh, this will be good. Care to elaborate or are you just another self proclaimed Ausmini expert?

"Repco filter manufacturers are world recognised, Quality compliant to the World's highest standard ISO TS 16949-2002 and are leaders in quality filtration selling to OEM and OES around the globe including GM, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Toyota and many more"
"Repco's Filtration Program is all about quality, our products have been manufactured to OEM standards in both appearance and performance, but at a much better price, giving customers a real solution," David Cattunar, Filtration Category Manager, Repco Australia said. "Over the last twenty years, the program has grown substantially in terms of range, reputation and most of all reliability and quality."

I think there is a misunderstanding:
The original post and Morris 1100 comment was about Ryco (GUD) no longer supplying the 2 small seals with their filter; Richard's comments are about the quality of Repco oil filters. They are different issues.

I am yet to see anyone self proclaim they are an Ausmini expert.

In my role as the Official Ausmini Self Appointed Expert I contacted Ryco (and not Repco) about the missing seals and I got the following response...

"Appologies for the delay in responding, we have found that the 2 gaskets
have been omitted, as you have advised.

Please accept our sincere appologies and note it is perfectly acceptable
to reuse the gaskets if they are not torn.

We will have the gaskets included in future batches."

I made this enquiry in 2008 they should have had plenty of time to fix the issue but have failed to do so.
Not only can't they spell "apologies" they still can't supply the correct seals. This is enough evidence for me.

Well done your expertness.

So why was Richard getting stuck into you about Repco? You didn't mention Repco in your original reply.
