Can anyone shed some light on what it maybe worth?
Thanks
Chris

Probably what you're willing to pay for it! However, if you need to factor in a set of sleeves and fitment to return it to standard...

What might a new unused, thick flange short motor be worth?

For Cooper S engine blocks I reckon that you need to contact the various Mini shops to get an idea of price. Ebay, Guntree and Facebook are not a good way to price them as some are over valued by the sellers. The price for a bare block and caps does vary each over size as well.

Matt Read usually has a few blocks laying around.

In the real world they trade for around $600.

I recently sold a few 40-60thou over. All went for $1200 -$1400. I also sold a Mk2 standard bore for $2k. I haven't seen a Mk2 S block for $600 in Many Many years.

Greg said that he sold blocks for these prices, not what he asked for but got the dosh in his hand. A good indicator I think.

Are Mk1 blocks worth more than Mk2? I've got both and will probably end up selling one of them, both have their original steel cranks and rods.
