Hi all,

Does this piece of vinyl trim have any padding underneath it or is it just glued directly to the wheel arch?

It should have padding.

This an original piece of the coir padding for the wheel arch.

I'm surprised it's not factory, it looks the same as the rest of the old vinyl that came with the car. I dug through my photos from car shows and found a couple more examples with seams as shown below.

I have an 850 with original interior and that has a join on it.
A very original Deluxe is for sale in Launceston and that also has a joint through it.

In the photo of the padding I posted above, the vinyl part was original (very) and was in 2 pieces. I think it would be much easier to get vinyl to fit that shape when made from 2 pieces.
