Hey all,

It's been a while since I've needed to buy a head gasket, and I _think_ the last one I got was a Monotorque (for a small bore) - it's all silver metal on one side.

Just got a new copy of the Karcraft price list, and they're listing a "Victor Reinz" head gasket (where they used to list Monotorque; they don't any longer). Anyone know what these are like?

Oh, belay that question maybe. Victor Reinz is the "VR" in "VRS" I'm guessing...

I thought VRS was Valve Regrind Set? It should be all the parts to remove the head and lap the valves (gasket, valve stem seals etc)

The monotorque head gasket was manufactured in Brisbane by ACL gaskets a few years ago.

The company went into receivership and the gaskets became nla (no longer available).

We now stock Victor Reinz (Germany) head gaskets.
These gaskets have been very well received by the Mini community.

A quality gasket at a sensible price.

Hope this helps.

These 998/1098 gaskets have a steel bottom surface. I have been told it's best to coat this face with Kopr-Kote anti-seize before fitting. So I did.
They seem well made.
