I have been told it is best to pump up the suspension with air 40psi before you use the hydro pump and fluid .Is that correct ?

I would think that is a complete and utter waste of time. What is achieved?

You want to get air out not put it in. Good idea to fill bags with fluid before fitting.

The mechanic that is doing the suspension has done at least 100 units and he said it is the best way is pump them up and it is easier to line up the ball ends. Seems to be various ways in doing things The mechanic is Triggs used to be a BMC dealer and mini racer.

That reason is not totally silly.
When pumping up a car from scratch you do have to be careful that the ball socket shaft enters the displacer squarely, rather than getting caught on the side of the displacer cone (as the archbishop might have said to the actress).
But I can't see why you would use air to get correct engagement. Just start pressurising the system slowly and check as you go.
Then, maybe the mechanic didn't have a hydro pump available when setting the car onto its wheels and had to move it to a pump without disturbing positive engagement of the suspension parts.

Isn't 2K on the way out now here in Oz?
My son recently got an aftermarket bonnet painted for his 2016 Wrangler, and the Seven Hills shop was totally using water based paints. They did an excellent job of matching the paint too.
