 Post subject: oil cooler CS 1970

Just fitting gear onto engine, the clearance between oil cooler and starter motor is 4mm is that enough?
Also 2 holes above starter motor 5/16, approx. 70 mm apart what goes there ?

probably but the new solenoid is smaller between hole centres

The solenoid is screwed to a mounting plate which bolts to the housing

doesn't sound right.... I don't use my oil cooler anymore, and have a Gemini starter motor, but I reckon there was more clearance than that...

I have a relationship problem with oil coolers so I stopped using the things. Except for originality purposes not sure if they are even necessary?

When the S came out oils was rubbish times have changed oil is much better these days
