I've had one of these filter cases on my car for a couple of years since I swapped to the HS4. I finally managed to track down one of the snorkel pieces that fits on the end at the recent MCCNSW swap meet. The question is, were these fitted to any cars other than the Minimatic? They seem to be a bit tricky to track down..

Not sure about your question but I have a few of them!!! I put one on a mates Mini K a few months ago, he didnt like the noise from his K & N cone filter so we went the stock look instead.

In Australia is was the Morris 1100S and the Morris 1100 Automatic as well as the Minimatic.
They were fitted to various models overseas, mainly single carb 1275 powered ADO16 variants like the Austin America.

I'm looking for one if anyone has a spare.

Is it dimensionally the same as the plastic donut one? I have one of those maybe.

I'm after the metal one. The plastic one is the same size but it looks wrong on a Morris 1100.

Thanks all!

I’ve got a spare metal one now (minus the snorkel) if you’re interested?

Yep, I'm interested.
Are you doing the run on the weekend?

Just a little addition here, if you're thinking about getting a K&N filter to replace the stock filter in your metal HS4 case, don't use the one stocked/recommended by all mini shops.

Standard filter = GFE1008
OD = 210mm
ID = 160mm
Height = 55mm

Mini shop reccomendation = KN E-2601
OD = 187mm
ID = 156mm
Height = 56mm

Proper filter = KN E-2600
OD = 208mm
ID = 159mm
Height = 56mm

The metal HS4 case locates the filter using the external lip, which is 210mm. If you use the recommended E2601 filter it will be loose inside and can block the carb intake. This is the filter pushed towards the front of the case
Image
And pushed to the back, you can see the smooth shiny metal where the filter has been rubbing
Image

The E2600 is a perfect fit for the metal case
Image

The E2601 would be a good fit for a plastic air filter case as the filter locates using the inside diameter and the smaller outer diameter doesn't matter
