Does anyone know if there are different brackets used to mount the bottom radiator cowl to the engine mount bracket?
It is the rectangular bracket with a large hole in the centre, folded into a W cross section and with rubber grommets in the 2 holes where the radiator screws fit.

My metal bladed fan jams on the bottom cowl.
Either the fan is too big or the radiator bracket is too high.
It is a '66 S. The fan is about the only non original part and it is the same size as the fan in my '69 K.

dunno about different brackets, but there is wiggle room if you loosen the long bolts that go through the gearbox housing into the engine mount bracket. You can lift the engine up a bit which will change the position of the fan relative to the radiator

There are several different brackets but they only vary in width. ie they affect radiator to body cowl clearance.

That just might be my problem...
Had a hard job getting those long bolts to align due to new engine mount. That might have pushed all the wiggle to the wrong end of the room.
Will take out engine mount, adjust big bracket with 2 bolts to get max clearance, then struggle with engine mount holes to subframe last.

Thanks Drmini. That clearance isn't a problem....yet.

try loosening the long bolts, loosen the engine mount bolts and try to get the whole lot to sit lower, then tighten the engine mount bolts and lift the engine with a jack, then tighten the long bolts

Fan now turns without hitting anything.
It was the long bolts wot did it... and a big pry bar.

There's also a bit of adjustment in the shroud itself. As you do up the screws in the middle of the shroud, lift up on the top part to make really sure that the top and bottom parts are aligned, even to the point of angling away from each other a bit

It shouldn't really have taken a pry bar though!

The pry bar was to lever the engine mount bracket away from the harmonic balancer and to lower the cowl slightly. The new engine mount is very firm. Should compress a bit with use.
