Tourist prices. Best to scout around close to the Strand for a fish shop and get a nice piece of mackerel.

1st outright both nights at Sun City Sprints :-)
close racing with vastly different cars
the Bimmer that came 2nd was incredibly clean & wickedly fast, as I was watching it run , it looked SOOO fast that I figured
there was no-way I was going to beat that thing, REALLY REALLY clean & super fast straight out of the gate,,, this fella knows the track
I was yet to have a run here & when I finally hit the bitumen I suddenly realised how tricky this place is
its such a technical track (probably one of the most technical tracks ive ever raced to be honest) & I started to doubt my ability to get a quick time,,, I thought I may need quite a few runs at this place to work it out, but as it happens I won by .04 of a sec on the first night & .07 of a sec on the second night
whew,,, by the skin of my teeth as they say :-)
anyways, I may have hurt the engine so we are going to spend the next coupla days having a go at fixing it, otherwise I`ll just run it at the next meeting at Reid Pk v8 super-car track this sat & see what happens... I reckon it`s going to lunch itself tho
quite smokey & tinny sounding so if we cant fix it & if it`s looking/sounding more ugly at Reid Pk then I`ll just pull out of the meeting ,,, the last thing I want is to desintergrate the donk & spew oil all over the track & ruin the meeting for everyone else
cheers & ill whack some more videos up soon

Good stuff Matt , you'd have to be chuffed with the result .

Has the engine been touched since you originally put it in , apart from tuning and maintenance ?

( and diffs  ) .

ha ha... not even tuned yet :-) after we fitted it we had to change the exhaust & the whole inlet system (just to make it actually work) ,,, & I bought a power-commander but havnt fitted & tuned it yet, its been sitting on my desk staring at me every time I go into the office :-)
so no, absolutely nothing done to it except one oil change (we don't do many miles/kms)
but yes weve busted/mashed/lunched 6x diffs so far & this last one (tran-X) seems to be the goods, its easy enough to drive (sort-of) & seems to be able to take the harsh treatment/punishment that I feed it nearly every weekend :-) poor thing :-)
it really does need stronger front suspension springs, its been bottoming & bending shock-pins for a while now & ive been sneaking up on spring rates a few times, but still not strong enough, so when i1m back ill order another pair & see how they go, one my size up & I reckon itll be right tho , so we are close... still playing with control arms & wheel alignments as we go too so its all a game of suuck-it-n-see at this stage
funny enough the car was pretty damn good out of the box (when we built it years ago) & now with the diff & the new 13" wheels/tyres etc & all the set-up adjustments weve been playing with has made it harder to drive,,, heavier,,, pushy,,, & we`re doin the same times as we were before,,, its like we just wasted a pile of money & time muckin with the damn thing :-)

Anyways,,, I'm having a couple of days off now, just chilling & relaxing & we go to scrutineering for Reid Pk sprints on Friday night, racing starts sat morning
hangin for another fangin,,, I just love this buggy :-)
cheers guys
stay tuned for more sprint action in-car videos on my youtube channel
just type in "madmatttheminiman" & that should get you there,,, I`ve put another few vids up today

2nd outright at Reid Pk sprints, that pesky 400hp evo of Allan Bush just pipped me by .3 of a sec

so we finished up 2nd outright in the 3x race championship for the week
great time, great racing, great fun
now i need a week off to recoup from my week off :-)
back to the grind
stay tuned :-)
more vids coming when i get the chance
cheers
Matt
