I've been lurking for a while and I don't know crap about minis but I have something useful to say
I have owned a couple of minis over the years and have been researching an engine conversion here in NSW for a few months. I've been in contact with Peter Gillard (
peter@adrcompliance.com.au), an engineer signatory for the RMS, and he sent me this link -->
clickyOne of the more important things from his perspective is there shall be no cutting of the engine sub-frame, unless it's a notch for fitment of a radiator or something similar which can be strengthened by welding on a plate. Let's say the mini's original weight is 650kg on the rego papers, then according to page 11;
Naturally aspirated: Original mass (kg) x 3.0 = max. capacity in cc’s
Forced induction: Original mass (kg) x 2.5 = max. capacity in cc’s
That's my 2 cents.....now to find a mini with a good body that's suitable for my project.
