Hi guys,

Looking around for 1380 (73.5mm) pistons. Looking to build a high compression motor so want flattops if possible.

Are there any recommended products out there that you guys have used? If so, where did you get them and how much did they cost?

Cheers Ray.

Many race guys use the 73.5 or 73.0 (1360) Hypatecs, if you can get them- but these days flat tops are old hat. You get more power with decent dished ones and decking lots off the 1275 head to unshroud the valves & get C/R up.. :P

I got 73.00 mm Hyertecs and Hastings rings from Richardsons Engine Builders for much less than I was quoted from any of the Mini shops.

Just checked back on my receipts, seems .094 pistons were $163.50 and rings to match $72.00. From Richardsons Engine Service 08 8266 1646.

Of course these 73.0mm pistons are available from your 'local' A-series specialist Graham Russell. Russell Engineering 61 296 302195... KC

Well, I decided to go the 73.5mm pistons anyway so Candy's going out to a 1380. Got Hypatec pistons with Hastings Rings as all have recommended here from Mini Craft. Set me back $286 for the lot. So not too bad at all.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys.

Cheers Ray.
