is this a brake booster or something?

http://imagestore.ugbox.net/aview/eedb2 ... f47fbaa17e

it seems that i have to remove it in order to get the front subframe out...is this the case?

BMC carefully positioned it there to make it bloody near impossible to get the oil filter out. Without spilling it.
I guess at least it doesn't crack the bodywork and fall off, like Clubby ones- including ours did.

was a bit surprised...especially since the passenger side brake lines go right under it...hence why i thought it was a brake booster or something...do i just undo the nut ontop? or is there some other way of getting it off?

Hi

Just get a 7/16 socket (1/4" drive is best with a 2" extension.) into the spce under the lip of the subframe to hold the nuts, then use a 7/16" spanner to turn the bolt on the outside of the subframe and the whole thing lifts away. (2 bolts in the horizontal plane)

Matt
