meeni, I found that with a bit of moving things about and that sort of fiddling I could move the top arm out without taking the shaft right out. I didn't even have to split the ball joint :D :shock:

I had my front trumpets out AND back in within half an hour on each side. No cone compressor, I just pulled out the top arm shaft enough for one end of the top arm to drop down.

You need to think 3 dimensionally when working on these cars. If something doesnt come straight out, what needs to be removed?

Aheeeem, BUUUUUMP.

Ok, I bough a nice shiney set of Hilos, however I have one issue... the bolts holding the springs in the front wheels have been scuffed flat, so I can't get them out with a spanner...

First of all, has anyone had this problem? how did you deal with it?

Personally I am going to lube it up and try again, and if all else fails, saw the damned things off and replace the whole bolt.

I dont quite understand what bolt you are talking about.. But if its stuffed and you cant use a spanner on it maby try using some vice grips? But it will have to be replaced afterwards...
