cheers nuclear mini

do these require s drive flanges and cv's? but all the rest is drum type?
or do they go on complete drum setups like hondas?

pics pics pics!

the reason i ask is that hondas dont seem very common over here at the wreckers as i want vented (need accord).. adam(citric) and i were down pilfering all of the fuel injection off a 2L camira for my escort at the wreckers and there were about 10 to choose from. but there was only one 83' accord (first one in months), which i nicked the brakes off for adams car. none yet for me lil van though.

these brakes require mini disc brake hubs, cv's, shafts and flanges. The honda conversion uses all drum brake gear.

thats my aim as well. coz the turbo needs engineering, I plan on having it done along with the brakes and cage....

You are right Brad except- Camira ones DO use a drum brake swivel hub. Laser cut plate mounts the caliper.

Well there must be 2 different camira setups out there,,, i think chris (twincammini) setup uses a disc brake hub with a bracket mounting the caliper to the original caliper holes.. I will confirm this today.

ok guys now you have just really confused matter

i dont care if you can do it on disc hubs

what i care, is there something weird about camira rotors that they need them?

how do they fit on drum hubs? spacers required front/back??
any machining required to the hub/rotor??

i know you dont need swivels, thats just lazyness.. not the cost cutting excercise i'm aiming for

i'll just have to go down to the wreckers and play for myself i think.. just dont have time for a couple of weeks

There is an ad in the mini car club magazine for a company that will do the camira brakes using 9 1/4 or 10 1/4 discs depending on wheel size. He says he uses drum brake parts to fit. (if you want details I can post them).

There is a possibility cross drilled and grooved rotors can be bought of the shelf as an added extra.

I want to upgrade my brakes from 7.5 S brakes, but am I better off keeping the cooper CV's or are the drum CV's just as good?

Dan

There was a thread on this not so long ago, as I remember the pot CV joints are better they provide better power transfer(less loss of power) and there was no real reliability or strength issues that I remember. Check it out at:
