The remote shift has an aluminium casing which comes back from the gearbox to the place where the gear stick enters the cabin.

The Rod change has two rods that come off the gear box back to where the gear shift enters the cabin they then enter a rectangular box the top of which holds the gear stick.

A magic wand is a gear shift that enters the cabin at about the base of the firewall and is a really long stick

The rod change gearbox you have to lift the gear stick up to select reverse.

Hope this helps

Isn't the remote a quick enough shift for ya  A good remote box should be pretty tight, i wouldn't waste the money on a quickshift for it ;)

They are not really a `quickshift' but a `shortshift'. Remote box is pretty short throws to start with. I wouldn't want mine any shorter...
To make it even better, just overhaul the linkage to remove any slack.

yeah i was surprised at how tight the gears are with the new motor i just thought a quickshift would make the changes sweeter and 2nd to 3rd like all new cars where it just flicks in.

yeah i thinkit may make it alittle to tricky.
i remember driving a hottie 1100 with a KAD quick shift in a remote box,i was a nitemare for the first fue streets, but once ya got the hand of it,WOW you could realy pull them gears thru at a quick rate, almost sounded like a auto :D
or do a bit of warren/willie style and shift with no clutch :P
