I run an electric water pump, well 2 actually as I have 2 radiators fitted and each one has its own pump. I have a custom blanking plate for the block. Will get some pics if your interested.

that'd be great - blanking plate isn't an issue as I'd make one, but interested to know what sort of pump it is (they are) and where you have it (them).

Doogie challenged me to fit something else in my engine bay....

Found this old thread and thought some of the contributors might be interested.
I have a very close to standard metro turbo setup, but with a NoDiz distributorless ignition system fitted.
So I thought I would upgrade to a GT1548 turbo with help from Benjamin on this forum (and also from "boostmini" forum - http://boostmini.justboard.net/).
We have decided to lose the cast exhaust manifold, as the GT1548 uses a different stud pattern to the T3. Whilst I believe it's possible to use an adaptor plate, this new manifold is a better option.
The rest of the conversion SHOULD be straightforward enough, with Ben also supplying other bits and pieces like exhaust flange and oil line.
I don't want the car off the road very long at all, and Ben's help can only aid in this regard.
Currently only getting probably 4psi (without the factory module fitted), and the wastegate fitted to the new turbo is 11psi, so I expect things will change a lot. Thankfully the NoDiz provides a lot of adjustability of advance.
As the bottom end is in remarkable condition (a 1987 engine bought by me in 1995 from Northern Mini Parts - and only 3000 miles done since), I plan to leave that alone for a while yet.

Will post some pics if I remember!

Cheers
Matt

Cheers

Why dont you have a look here - http://www.hi-flow.com/HP003aSuper.html
Hans would be the number one person to talk to regarding boosted A series engines in Australia, he sells his supercharger kits all over the world and has spent the last 30+ years R&D'ing the kits, along with cam profiles, exhaust systems, etc.

don't get me wrong the kits sound good but turbo is definitely the better option in my eyes.

They are more efficient , no power loss to drive the turbo and still return good fuel economy .

The GT15 will come on fast anyway so lag is not an issue. Also power potential is greater and I believe it to be reliable.

I ran my 1100 with 10psi and 140hp for 25000km and broke a ring-land on my cheap $170 hypatecs after I got greedy and used 18psi a couple of times .....

Some interesting stuff here re turbo and SC, there seems to be a few people in Melbourne doing the SC thing but what about Turbo's. Who are the resident experts in VIC who are playing with Turbo modifications.
