I had a similar problem when i first fired my HIF44 up ....

Check the O rings in the choke mechanism ... mine were dry and cracked.. the choke was on FULL all the time ..... nasty...

Good luck, its a bastard to work on too !

Changing the needle had ZERO efect on mine....
Same with the Jet (Thanks again, Grant)

unless you are getting it to load up (Driving) there is very little that the Needle does.....

Good luck
J

Just as a matter of interest, how come you put a turbo carby and manifold on if you aren't interested in the turbo itself?

the carby is on and running with airfilter and lcbs and a rc40 and man does it have some more power now bottom end power is a little better , mid is a noticable difference but the top end power is huge :D its so fun to drive also alot smoother and sound measured at a nice 91db at 3000rpm :)

next mod will a 12g295 ported head and corolla rockers :) i think the turbo can wait im really happy with it the way it is :D :D :D :D
