If you do sort out a modified inlet (I assuming the modification required is probably cutting and shortening the intake runners, or fabricating a new intake all together) make sure it looks legit and original, and make sure it is very hard to notice that it's been modded. Then don't talk much about it on here as modified intakes (appart from FMIC on turbo motors to avoid the need for a bonnet scoop) are a no no. Transport SA does not like modified intakes on modern engines.

So, am thnking a JDM B16a with an allspeed subframe in a roundy with a fibreglass flip front...

Or a JDM B16a with an allspeed subframe in a clubby...

Thoughts?

Be careful with the flip fronts, depending on the engineers some say yes some say not a chance. They don't really like the thought of a whole removable front

Personally I'd be going for a TB18 type r, with the all speed frame and a solid steel flip front and then turbo it after engineering

Either way check first to see if it will be road legal. NSW had (I don't know if they still do) engine size to weight limitations... 1.8 turbo would never have passed
