At least the dash on a mini is reasonably simple

whats taken the most time with the dash is having to drill the holes, and find all the nuts and bolts,

im almost there, just need to go get the 4x speedo cluster to firewall bolts that go into the captive nuts

then it should all bolt up

Yummy progress.

did a little bit more today,

installed the headlamp bowls and headlights, and front indicators, the pinch weld on the front grill

and installed part of the brake and fuel lines

decided to take a happy snap to get me excited, its feels so close now

Coming along nicely, and I agree with Nick, the colour looks great!! '

just a brief update,

waiting for a wiring loom from Vinwire so i can start splicing them together,

also waiting for a harmonic balancer to arrive from adelaide as mine was no good

untill i get these theres not alot happening,

however i did receive some goodies today,

got my new fuel sender



and also my 13x7 mamba wheels

Looking forward to seeing a pic of the wheels when they're on

I'm all for mokes on 13 x 7's

Noooooo, Always been a fan of the Mamba. Going to have to change my mind, yet again, on wheel choice!

the photos don't do them justice, they look fantastic in person

had some time on my hands today so i went out a bought a Dremel,

decided to try and attack my corroded old alternator..

it didnt work too bad but not quite as good as id have hoped

work on the moke has been a bit slow while i wait for the loom to arrive,

the harmonic balancer arrived though so i can get started on the engine at some stage

but today my attention was on the daihatsu gauges,

the stock gauges stuck out too far for what i need, so my idea is to get a peice of perspex and modify the guages so they are more flat,

i seperated the facia and the bezel from the gauge



then started to trim down the black bezel



then i trimmed a piece of cardboard to get a rough idea of the size i need to cut the perspex
then i cut the perspex and at the moment im in the process of sanding it down to fit nice and snug within the edges of the bezel

so after alot of sanding ive finished the slimline dash,

im a little unhappy with the way the glue set on it (looks a little messy) but hopefully ill make up some sort of bezel for the dash so it will hide it





i also have some plans in the mix to make a custom dash for my moke so stay tuned for that..

I saw you bought a new mini. What's happening with this build? Is it still on the go?

hey ryan, its still on the go, just been waiting an eternity for the wiring loom from VINWIRE,

probably dont see it being finish now untill late february

the engine loom arrived today after about 5 weeks waiting for it, so ill get stuck into the moke over the xmas period and hopefully have most of it ready to go to the auto elec in january to get the loom spliced
