Would anyone know the part number or name for the rubber grommet for the metal fuel line passing through the metal bracket as shown? Could not find it anywhere. Otherwise imagine just a generic grommet?

Neither of mine has the fuel pipe fixed in that fashion, nor can I see any advantage from a rigidity perspective. The combination of pipe and rubber fuel hose, properly clamped, works just fine.

Well, that's the way my original Cooper S was made. Would rattle if no grommet.

Hi all,
Revamping an old post which is relevant to a question I have regarding the fuel pipe grommet that fitted into the heater hose and hydro pipe bracket on the firewall.
I have added a few pics of the heater / hydro bracket from my MK2 S (right) and a 63 Cooper (left) and as you can see they are different grommets however the colour of the grommet is similar which leads me to believe that possibly back in the day the fuel system associated grommets were this brownish / reddish colour (the SU float bowl insulators are the same colour on my Mk2).
Now I understand that yes I could just find a black grommet that is 1/4" inside, fits a 3/8" hole and is 1/2" OD which will get me out of trouble but has anyone ever come across these brownish / reddish OE grommets, and is there an original part number for the MK2 version? I must admit I have spent waaay too much time googling this and came up with nothing....
Any help appreciated!

Thanks to a text from a mate, looks like red silicone is used to manufacture high temp grommets, might start looking for some of these in the size required. Stay tuned!

Grommet arrived and fitted, looks pretty good! i know, i know, small things, small minds etc, but if you applied that to every difficult to source part you replaced during the restoration you'd end up with a car that looks nothing like an original car. The Cooper grommet is different and I was unable to source anything like the original, but the Cooper S was a standard grommet in high temp material.

They were used throughout the factory for all the marques - MG's / Sprites etc. with a mix of black & red. Kits are available through some MG suppliers - at an unreasonable price though. Your option above is good bounce-for-buck.
