Yesterday saw the front drivers cone, trumpet, knuckle come out in one piece after removing the upper arm.

Today after visiting the BMC muster, attempt 1 at separating the trumpet from the cone. Tomorrow after the wd40 has done its thing - attempt 2 .... with a bigger hammer.

After 1 weekend, the swear jar is full!!!! (And i now know i need smaller hands for those upper arm hinge pins - especially with the engine still in place!!).

Replaced one side of the rear flare backings - took the wide one off and put an original S size on.....had to take out original flare clips to make flares sit properly. Now need to patch the holes....
Put the new standard flares on with the old mould to test.....not bad. Will do other side and fit new moulds tomorrow......only 3 1/2 weeks to Bathurst....

Reamed two radius arm bushes in the Lathe for a buddy of mine with my 13/16 machining reamer. worked a treat, very happy with the result.

Topped up the tank, pumped up the tyres and drove it.
I love the stares and smiles from all the "mature" age folk as they reminisce the old days when they had a mini.

Welded some floor patches into my son's $355 `71 Clubby. Oh my aching knees! I'm getting too old for this, can't hardly see to weld either. :(

If I'm carrying on like a pork-chop, I'm having a great time.

If I go very quiet there's a very good chance I broke something.

Bled and adjusted all 4 brakes, it actually stops without having to pump the pedal first!

Finally reunited with my S for a few weeks. Rekitted the clutch master and replaced the slave with an after market unit.

When swapping the clutch slave seal spreader for my old one I noticed the new slave cylinder does not have a circlip or groove to stop the piston coming out.

That was a trick used in the old days to counteract wear in the linkages.

Not sure if that is the reason they have done it or maybe they are just saving money in machining and a circlip.

Same here. Went to 3 shops before finding some still in store, and hidden on the bottom shelf.
