No, she’s always been Cedar Green. Actually wouldn’t have been my first choice but when I turned up to view the car, I was really taken with the colour!!

It looks good , mine is Sea Mist Green , most of them I have seen are Shadow Blue , used as fleet cars by police , post office etc , so the different colours are quite rare , I have a white one also but its in a sad condition at the moment :D

 I finally got myself in to the garage after a hectic weekend and have established that there is a nice strong spark (yey!) but still no go (boo!). Now to investigate potential fuel issues :?:

I regularly clean fouled spark plugs, I just burn them clean with a gas torch.
It works very well especially on 2 stroke motors like Victa mowers.

The easiest way to clean your 2 stroke plugs is to run them in a 4 stroke engine for a while

I ran my 2 stroke Victa on 50:1 outboard mix, no more fouled plugs!
My boss did the same for 20 years previously.

Regarding Minis, I have found over many years the most common reasons for fouled plugs are ancient suppression plug leads, or not enough advance at idle.

Interesting that yours has the deluxe grille. My Mini Minor has the 850 pressed steel grille.

What year is yours?

cheers
michael

Most two "smokes" foul their plugs...and will not run with wet plugs...pull the plug(s), dry them and clean the carbon deposits off then throw them back in...

Picked up a can this week. Figured either way it is probably useful to have in the garage for the future :D

Good point... I only checked the one as quick job. Mid-week Public Holiday finally gives me chance to get back to it so I'll check all of them today. Fingers are crossed!

The previous owner told me that he fitted a Cooper grille as the original was stuffed, so I didn't get it with the car. She's registered as a 1964 but I'm unsure whether that is a bit too early or not. How about yours?

Checked and all sparking nicely.

Chucked some SYB through the carb and she fired up first attempt but quickly died, so it looks like there is a problem with fueling. Not ideal but I'm pleased to be narrowing it down!

Also found out that I need a new filter on the carb so have a bit of shopping to do either way

Thanks for everyones help so far!
