Your car has the early type wipers.
Seems like you have the wrong blades or arms or both.

Hi Ron, thanks for the info, I just measured the wiper blades they are both 9" and the passenger side wiper arm is roughly 9.5" so 1/2" longer than the other which would explain why its hitting the top windscreen rubber, the wiper motor is stamped 66 and is a single speed see the pic

so it looks like i need another wiper arm one which is closer to 290mm rather than 295mm... does anyone have one??

Old ones wear where they are pinned to the hub. I had a bunch here but have tossed them.
Go buy a new pair from Karcraft or John Smidt, they are pretty cheap.

Just reviving an old topic with a new question:

How do you get the blades off the arms?
Going to switch out the black faded blades for some S.Steel ones, and can't work out how to get em off!

12AUW motor came in with the Oz only recessed scuttle panel, 1968 I think.
You can swap or convert it to the round Oz 2 speed one, but it needs an MGB switch to get 2 speeds + auto park.
Wiring diagram for this mod is in this forum, somewhere...
Note that round Rover UK motors are different. So is their wiring.

Thanks for the reply, maybe I wasn't specific enough / it seemed improbable someone could ask such a silly question.

I'm looking to put one of these on instead of the black ones

There look to be pins but I don't want to pry anything off if it means I break the arm and have to replace both bits.

I put Tex ones similar to those on my 1970 car. As the late Oz scuttle panel is different spindle positions to UK I had to bend the arm ends a bit to fit.

Ah hopefully they fit.

I sent this pic to minispares and they said it was an unusual attachment.
Where the black 11" blade section joins to the wiper arm at 5 inches.

Is it easy to get the old black blade section off and replace with stainless steel ones? Pry as I might I can't seem to get it.
