Hi all

Just a quickie, i have a stock 1100 with a 1 1/4 su, can i put a 1 1/2 on there with extractors and bigger exhaust. just that one person is telling me yes and a friend is saying 1 1/2 is too big. I was sure some 1100s came out with them.

Anyways the only reason i thought i would is i have it on the inlet manifold, and the 1 1/4 one on the car will have to cut the manifold to put the extractors on.

thanks :) julie

I have an inch and a half on an inlet manifold sitting there so it would bolt on. If i reuse the original i have to cut

1 1/2 will work fine on an 1100.

You can get a nice kit like these from the UK with all the bits you need. The needle and tuning will need checking to make sure it's running ok.

The 1.5 carb and its stock manifold is worth probably 3HP or so.
In UK it was used on all the automatics including 850, to offset power loss through the torque converter.

Running a 1.5, K&N filter, 3-1 extractors and RC40 muffler over here on my K, no dramas

handy chart. as long as your 1100 is putting out more than 45 bhp byte less than about 80 then you're fine. Don't trust the chart though, just a guide.
