Thread revival - so I'll just get the local tyre shop to machine mount these tyres to the rims but tell them to do it over the inner rim side first. Sound like a good plan?

yes, the big problem is the "Usual" side to fit a tyre is not the side to fit on a mini rim

what most people havn`t mentioned is that the tyre need to have the bead set-into the wheel-well properly to be able to fit the tyre without damaging it

"This" is the issue,,, !!!

if you look at a wheel/tyre combo & how it fits, you need to get the bead to sit within the wheel-well on one side before tyring to accomplish full fitment of that side`s whole bead

when "Normal" people try to fit a tyre they are shown how to do it but not told "Why"

so that "Normal" person doesn`t understand the simple physics involved

if they`re shown the "Right" way to fit "ANY" tyre & told the "Reason" why it`s meant to be fitted that way
then funny enough there`s no problem

opposite side into the wheel well & it almost falls on
people need to look & see that the easiest way is the short side first :-)
Ya cannot change the laws of physics, """bead""" me up Scotty :-)

try 30 year old speedway tyres by hand & then tell me what you reckon :-)

If you go to your tyre shop and tell them the rims are reverse mount they will know what you mean.
