Has anyone has experience with these carter pumps?

I'm wary of facet pumps, heard a lot of bad things about them.
Thats the one I have. Works ok on a 45 weber. But the total length is quite long with the inline filter when fitted up under the car.

I ended up going with the Holley pump as in a previous post. I used the original su mounting holes in the subframe and made a bracket to suit. I didn't use the supplied filter as it was too long to fit where I wanted. I fitted a pre-filter in the boot.
Rubber dampers were sourced from some spare rocker cover grommets. Very happy and the car started first go!!

Good to hear, thanks for the update - I think I'll just copy that mounting bracket to mount mine too :)

No problem....I would do the same. :) I got the 90° fittings from Pirtek too, about 6 bucks each.
Cheers, Richard.

Have used an electronic facet pump on twin 1 1/4 SU's on an 1100 motor for over 20 years. Never missed a beat, never flooded the carbys, full on performance. Why bother with anything else. Thoroughly recommend.

I'm sure the facet pumps are great, I though I'd give this one a go as the noise level might be less as it's encapsulated in plastic.

I had one of these carter pumps on my MGB and it used to flood the twin 1 1/2 inch SUs. I replaced it with one of my $50 'Square type pumps" and fixed the problem. 3 to 4 psi. makes more sense to use the correct low pressure pump in the first place than having the wrong one and correcting it with an unnecessary pressure regulator. Unless you like seeing these things under the bonnet for show and more things to give unnecessary trouble.

Anyone had a Facet pump leak out of the body.
Mine looks like it's leaking from where the tags are clamped over the base.

I have had 2 square Facets and a square TRW on various cars over the years and never had a leaking problem. They just seem to keep working.
