Reinstalled the bonnet stripes after paying for a professional cut & polish. For 16 year old paint she is looking mighty fine!

1. disassembled rear hubs after they were removed during the week. bearings need replacing. (timkens me thinks)
2. replaced wheel studs in the hub, they were a tad short.
3. Looked at the shocks, Right was ok left was a bit sad. new rear shocks.
4. accuspark installed during the week, dizzy went back in, runs sweet, need to check timing though.
5. little bit of a clean in engine bay need some degreaser.

Made some hex brass bolts to hold my Dellorto carby onto the now water heated manifold. Better heat conduction, maybe... :)
Years ago I could have just gone and bought these, back when Australia made fasteners & engineering stuff. FA made here now... :(

Put petrol in and started up. Scared the dog and filled the garage with smoke. Need to turn it around so the exhaust points outwards to set the timing.

Put the old girl up to take the front brakes off. Time for a ball joint check/service and I've got a CV Joint dust cover that's pushing a little grease out. While I am there, I have a set of adjustable bottom arms and tie rods to install :)

Cheers

Its an ATV jack. I'm a bit of a convert to this unit. It starts out super low, it jacks the car nice and high, a spread load, and locking points to take the weight off the hydraulic ram.

I still use Jack stands, but not today, I have to play with the tie rods and they get in the way, so I've used the ATV jack's lock point.

so do you just jack from under the sump? with it?
I've seen those jacks and wondered if they'd be any use for a mini...

Yes, under the sump. Usually just long enough to get the jack stands under the front and that would be enough.
I wouldn't do that on a rod change however, without the remote you would be relying on the engine mounts in extension.

I use 2 holden torana rims each side and a mini rim in between and a block of 4x2 timber between the floor and rim as stands around where the wheel is in pic

I find it safer than axle stands when doing a job like that and i can lift all 4 wheels off the ground if i have to with 1 holden and mini rim on top in each corner of the floor

Good for bleeding brakes with all 4 wheels up in the air and i use a steel 4x2 hollow beam the width of the car between floor and rims on the back

Richened the air fuel mixture to try solve my weak idle/stalling issue......

Didn't work but still gotta thank Mick! Previously if I were asked to richen the air fuel mixture I would have got a straw and blown bubbles in the tank. Already learnt a lot.
