Fitted the new wheels yesterday. Adjusted all the suspension so it sits flat and square and doesnt scrub.

Changed out the rod change housing. Now have a tighr gearshift again.

The ratvan is finally stating to feel like a real nice mini too drive.

I used tamiya colour acrylic paint sky blue x-14 found at hobby shops

http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/paints-f ... blue-81014

Also went over the top with the clear x-22 and black x-1 for the mini letters and boarder lines

Its good to have a busy garage.

Started cleaning up an old and very beaten up Twin SU Air Cleaner. It was twisted and pretty badly beaten up. Its been hacked at by some racer in time immemorial, so I won't feel bad about modding it. I want it to sit over the twin 1.5" SUs, so will take small scallops out of the lower front to suit the larger SU Dampers.

Also set about rebushing a set of Cooper S forged rockers. They've been sitting rusty for many years, so I figured they could stay rusty and worn out, or I could refurb them and add them to the cupboard. I'm yet to finish cleaning up the posts. For fun I've picked up a set of offset bushes from Jonspeed. It will be interesting to measure the lift against stock bushes and see what I get.

@Mick,
S rockers are pretty poor even with offset bushes in. But they will help a bit.
With stock bushes, and a new RE13 cam, I measured them at only 1.16:1 ratio.

Don't believe the BS about these offset bushes giving 1.5:1 as some Mini parts sellers overseas have stated.
I made some bushes a while back with .044" offset, (is more than the bought ones) and fitted to Simon K's 1275 oval pad pressed steel rockers, I only got 1.35:1.
These same offset bushes in 850/998/1098 pressed steel rockers gave me 1.31:1.

Yeah, I was keen on seeing how they worked myself for a bit of fun. I'll let you know what I get.

Today I had the joy of picking up a box of parts from the post office.

Now let the fun begin!
