Now I have a key, I fixed my old boot lock that the locksmith broke.
Where the `pin' bit broke off the barrel, I drilled a 2.0mm hole in the end, then press fitted a nickel bronze shouldered pin, 3.2mm x 2.0mm dia to it. A bit of silicone grease there and it feels like a bought one. :D

@drmini - You make it sound so easy! I can assure anyone reading this that it's very fiddly & a complete PITA!
I will admit that I made do with a hand drill & a small bolt slightly bigger than the hole, & forced it in to cut its' own threads before cutting off the end of the bolt with a hacksaw.... Only slightly dodgy, but it works.

It's easy to do... when you have a mill with a 4" lathe chuck on the table, slides calibrated in .05mm steps, and a bench lathe.
I drilled the 2.0mm hole 5.5mm deep, then turned the bronze pin to fit.

Getting closer to having a running Nota again :) the hold up atm is mounting the trigger wheel for the megajolt set up ....... how do you explain to an older gentleman that the trigger wheel is like the dizzy, the sensor is like the points and the web based instructions are not located on red tube.

Had some new rubber fitted today.
Seems to be a good upgrade from the rock hard bridgstones that i've been waiting to replace for a few months

Machined up a water heating tube for my Weber manifold, to stop carb icing on the freeway.
This happens at 110kmh on light throttle, I'm sick of cruising slower than the traffic at 100kmh just to stop it happening.

Now I just need to weld it on. I thought of using Devcon filled epoxy instead, but the engine vibes would probably kill it.

Or you could tap and die it, screw it in... Unless it's alloy :)

It is alloy. It is 9/16" dia x 170mm long, drilled 8.5mm, and sits on top of the Redline 3005 manifold, between the carb flange and the 2 vac port bosses.
I will MIG weld it with 1.0mm 5356 wire (because I can).

Good job!

Attempted to do some work out there. It was like working in a refrigerator!
I need a pot belly stove...

Must be the time for it as I did my first one as well! Big issues with mine. The retainer that holds the layshaft had broken allowing it to float. Broken bits of roller bearing scored the layshaft. Ruined the crankshaft as well. :(
So dug out another crank. Have had it all machined and polished and putting new everything through the motor.
Need to get a bearing kit for the gearbox now!

It was quite mild here today. In Maitland NSW, perfect for working on hobbies. Gets bloody hot in summer though :))
