Thanks Darrell, Sydney is right, may make the meet but I have a few items to look at before I do, Passed rego and all that just want to sort out the water issue among other things.

Why not fit a Pulsar distributor?
besides having no more points the cap is sealed with "O" ring.

After fixing the radiator shroud rattle by replacing all the copper rivets with M3 screws, I found I have misplaced the Mini keys.
Yes all 3 locks are different.
No, I have no spare keys. :(

I might have to pull the ign switch out, get a key cut for it, then drive to John Smidt's next week and try all his keys, to see which ones fit the door and boot locks. Then get new keys cut. 2 OF EACH.

Of course, after going to all this trouble, then the damned keys are sure to show up.

Well, at least you would have spares. Have you checked your other pocket? works for me sometimes.

Doc,
I have a set of keys with quite a few options on them collected from various siblings' mini and bmc variants over the years just sitting in a draw. I wouldn't claim it is a full set, but you're welcome to borrow them and try them out.

Thanks KB. If they don't show up I'll take you up on the offer.

They are here somewhere, I'm sure I had them yesterday.

Goodie, I've already checked all the shirts, daks and jackets I've worn this week. No joy. :(

[edit] I've found my spare key for the fuel filler caps.. :) still looking for my original car keys... :(

[edit 2] I now have new keys for the ignition, and have found 2 door keys, so only the boot lock to go.
It might give me an excuse to drive to John Smidt's on Tuesday. 8)

Is there a number code on the boot lock without pulling the tumblers out? Or just a production date?

[edit 3]
KB (1310/71) dropped by this arvo and we tried all his keys in the boot lock. Unfortunately no joy, but thanks Kev for dropping by.

I have another boot lock in the dungeon somewhere, I will try my spare keys in that. Or pull it apart and try to key it alike to the door key without effing it up.

Just sorting through parts needed to be painted. Bloody lots of little brackets and stuff.

Ripped out the heater and plugged the inlet/outlet hoses. Found a crack in the heater core...

Now looking at moving on from the mini...

If you are able to open your boot, if you then pull the lock assembly out it should have the 9xx type number on the shaft. Mine does. No need to undo any tumblers, etc.

Thanks for that, yes the boot is unlocked. :D

[edit] Couldn't see any legible numbers stamped on the shaft, so I refitted it.
I can't find the spare one either. :x

Buggerit, instead of going for a drive to John's then having to clone a key, I'll just take the boot lock to my friendly local locksmith and get 2 keys cut for it.
[edit] A bad idea this, the locksmith (blacksmith?) fooked up the lock inside somehow.
So I've ordered a new one with keys, from Minis Plus.
