Had a closer look at the passenger side a panel. Thought I saw a bubble so pulled off the covering strip and found a bit of a sus area on the front wing. Decided to take both front wings off and inspect the a panels really carefully.

Pulled off the front valance and found rust hiding under the strip that holds the bumper on. Glad I found it now...

Removed the windscreen from the 997 so I could start repairing the paint around the seams. The seams are fine, but the car had something poured on it in another life which has affected the paint below the drain holes.

I managed to crack the windscreen! Not unexpected. There was a large star crack where a rock had taken it out, and the crack radiated from there. I have another two windscreens as backup 8)

I'm really taking care of two issues...

Before removing or fitting laminated windscreens park the car in the sun to warm the glass. (yeah, I know!)

Yeah, it was laminated too... one of those windscreens with the tint along the top.

I think deep inside I wanted it to crack so I wouldn't feel compelled to stow it....

Decided to check why my front wheels bind when rotated by hand, I think the bearings may have been overtightened, so re tensioned. Finally fitted my replacement drivers window regulator and it works a treat, bit of a fiddly job getting regulator and window in right position.

Assembled the right hand front wheel bearing and hub, fixed up the driveshaft coupling on the left hand side. Changed the bearing on the front left too, bled the front brakes, replaced the brake shoes, adjusted up and did a few quick laps of the block!

Brakes are always too shiney to put wheels onto, and then splash through puddles and cover in road grime...
