Adjusted the floats on my carbys so they actually worked.
Did a compression test all good!
I borrowed a mates timing light to check the timing after setting it statically turns out I had it way to far retarded, adjusted it dynamically to about 7-8 and now my mini has come to LIFE for the first time since!
So pumped!

Hi kev

Abso-flippin-lutely! I've just made my second Ausmini tool and I'm looking at expanding the collection.

Tonight I also made the first motion shaft bearing puller (instructed by the bloke above) and it works great. Pulled the bearing off easily.

I will take pics today and put them in a separate thread here.
I have no drawing, but I'll give dimensions and machining steps.

[edit] Now done, it's in the how-to forum. See link on this page ^^

Adjusted the Brakes, now have a better pedal feel, a better handbrake and the matic even stops.

I couldn't see this link anywhere on this page?

But I did skip across to the How To section and found it easy. Nice one, drmini.

Okay.

I did spend twenty minutes after work trying to remove the two detent plungers for the selector rods. They wouldn't fall past the threads no matter what I tried. Even compressed air wouldn't blow them out (naughty). Tomorrow I try the 'suck-out-your-fillings' magnet I have at home.

If I can manage to peel it off the side of the toolbox!

Sometimes they sludge up in there and get stuck.
Get some coat hanger wire and bend it 90deg to a hook. Spray degreaser or WD40 in there, then work the plunger to and for with the hook inside and a screwdriver outside....

Find Sugar up with Petrol. I have done 155 miles since the auto transmission rebuild. Did 119 miles with one tank (22.06 litres) 4.98 gallons therefore 23.89 miles.

What sort of fuel consumption are other minis and mini matins getting?

Also tidied up the garage so Sugar has her own parking spot and remote control garbage door.

Washed it and took it to Hawksnest Motorfest. Good turn out of minis and good to see a mini won Presidents choice award. Met up with local Mini friends. Also met ausmini member BBY775 and a couple of Mini car club members from Sydney.
