Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Just wondering about the light bar... Is that a bespoke item? It doesn't appear to be a "works" style one as the overriders are still on - and I always thought they wouldn't fit.

That's one of a couple of things they haven't done true to the period. The driving lights should be mounted on the narrow panel between the grille and bumper bar. The rear vision mirrors are also the wrong era.

Brings back memories. The mesh sun visor would make it more realistic.

Shame they did not paint it the original colour and they should be slapped for putting on those MGB type mirrors. However, great to see the police taking an interest in their mini heritage!

Probably either a Wibroc (police type) or a bullet type mirror.

Not a nice feeling...as they could zoom up behind you extra quick, blend into the other traffic and pop out and nab you....my friends told me all this, of course

Thanks for the photo. Keep them coming if you see the car displayed somewhere.

Only good for 106MPH downhill, the cop told me when I'd pulled up..
He was a little peeved that my Fiat had gained 1/2 a mile on him (Pacific Hwy was derestricted back then).
