rebuilt motor and box on mini nothing done to carby keeps going some times after run the bloke that did rebuild told me that the carby needs to be rebuilt first time mini owner already been ripped in rebuild any ansers[/b]

It's a mini thing..just live with it and put it in first and let the clutch out as you turn it off ;)

Some later engines (Metros etc I think) had an anti-run on valve. As you shut the ign off, it let bulk air into the inlet manifold to kill its fire. So it's not a new problem.
My excuse- it's running 10.7:1 on 98 octane fuel. I just let the clutch up, too.... :lol:

It`s called """Running On"""

Make sure you have the correct spark plugs fitted,,,not "Hot" ones

set fuel mixture correctly

set the idle as low as it will go, while still smooth

make sure the igition timing is set correctly & maybe even back it off a degree or 2 if the compression ratio of the engine has been set too high.

& make sure you run quallity premium fuel

let it idle for a while before turning it off

all this should help

if it still """"Runs On""""" then i`d have the comp ratio lowered

i just can`t stand a mini running on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
