Same same same.

I do a ~50km trip and back each day.

Well, I did when my gearbox worked - but I will be doing so again soon!

It looks like some really nice work there in the conversion. Can i ask that the next video you do, can you go really slowly so we can get a good look at it?

If you wanted to turbo the G13B and go for big power sure, but as an NA proposition i don't buy into it.

Sure you get fuel economy, 5speeds, fuel injection - but at the end of the day these are things people care about in daily drivers - how many people daily drive minis these days.

I have driven an N/A G13B in a mini and a an a-series is easily made to provide that kind of performance reliably.

I think people can convert a mini to suzuki power quite cheaply. Con Torisi did the engine in NG's car himself and at very low cost I believe. It is unfair to compare a stock G13B with a highly modified A series. The G13B can also be worked and they respond very well to better inlet manifolds, solid lifters, high rev ceiling, replacemetn ecu etc. I think they'll easily match an A series for potential power output and be must more robust when there. Read Bill Sherwoods page about the Sports 1300 class and how they cam to use those engines in very mild tune to replace the earlier corolla motors. They got equal power with very few mods and the engines lasted years, not races between re-builds.

Nah, Con "re-built" one that the Yeagar brothers from Alstonville had already made years before & i believe that is the car NG owns now?

I thought Con rebuilt the purple clubbie (I think it temporarily lived up in Toowoomba before Con had it), then built the yellow one himself..? :? That's going off some old memories of some rather old websites... I could very easily be wrong. :)

From what Tony Yeager told me Matt, Con didnt make any modifications to the brown clubby - he just bought it and drove it....

yeah but from what Con told me , the original Yeager subframe kept cracking up, & from my memory the thing cracked about 5 times while the Yeagers had it.

So Con decided to make his new frame slightly different to help avoid the same problems

Gotcha - I knew there was some rework in there somewhere, but no mods. Seems to not be the case....
