The best one i ever saw was the UJ on the roof, but it continued over the whole body, down the bonnet and sides, that looked cool

Buy it as a decal from UK and have it professionally done. It'd be cheaper by far than spraying right? and if you don't like it, rip it off!

Have seen 2 types of decal - one is a plan vinyl of the UJ, the other is a 3 dimensional effect vinyl by adding shading as thought he UJ looks like a draped flag obver the roof. Looks kool.

here is the one you referred to, on the miniman's website.

i prefer the one in the picture behind it.
i'm as aussie as they come, and have thought about putting on the aust. flag, but just doesn't look quite right, not symmetrical enough unfortunately. perhaps i'll just have to add a sticker of clarification of my national pride to the rear window to offset the union jack.
i've seen mini's over here with state flags, u.s. flags and canadian flags on bmw mini's. pretty ugly.

just found the decals on the uk site. 50 pounds, so comes to nearly 150aus. not a bad option, thanks for mentioning it. i'd be interested to know what mini used for his, whether his are painted or decals. i guess decal could be the better way to go for resale value, as the next buyer could just peel them off.

Yeah i agree with you Dylan, wasn't a big fan of the halfway draped flag. your photo is good though i agree, that would have to be a paint job i'd imagine not a decal. seems most people though think the decal + some gloss paint/lacquer is the way to go. I still wonder how miniman did those two in the picture above.
Am thinking of buying them from the UK as i am currently living in canada and he convieniently ships to their from amazon.co.uk. then just bring them back in with me.

The mini with the draped aussie flag at minimans place is definitely painted. See it every year when we visit the Qld Mini Muster.

Looks pretty good I reckon.

Just found out some more details of the aussie flag draped mini parked at minimans place in the pic above.

Apparently the owners did it themselves with tins of spray paint. Did a really good job if you ask me.

It belongs to friends of my sister in Brizzie.
