Two days of nothing and another to come  Up in Rocky visiting my son's family and helping them get ready for Beef Week. But then my wife is staying till Saturday to babysit and I'll be coming home by myself and won't have anyone looking over my shoulder and suggesting "other more important things to do"

Did some panel work on the number 2 Morris 1100 (the auto car). It is a lovely ex-little old lady car so it is very clean inside and has bumps and scrapes down both sides.
I hate panel beating but I still persist in doing it all myself.

I have not been able to do much in the shed for a while after I got a bit of back pain at work but I am getting over it and trying to get a few jobs done before the winter freeze.

Reminds me of my old Austin 1300 - One old lady owner, 75,000, slow, badly maintained Km, every panel had a dent, but the inside was fantastic!

This car was very well maintained and fairly low milage, I got a folder with all the service receipts. It had a full brake rebuild (seals and hoses) every 8 years. It got serviced by the date and not by the milage. It is a pity that the old dear lost a bit of judgement in her declining years.
A young shiela got is as her first car but the forward clutch in the auto gave up before she could do much damage to the car.

My main 1100 is very similar, it was a little old lady car and then it was a young chicks car. Her daddy was into old Jags (mk4s) and he thought that a Morris 1100 would be the perfect thing for his daughter to drive as a first car, so he spent the money getting all the granny scratches removed and gave it to the girl to drive. She hated it and knocked every dent back into it.

Finally got the back of the van down to a sane ride height. After the rear cones sagged, I decided to fit hi-lo's as well as the new cones, but the pins in the end of the struts were over an inch longer than they need to be. When installed at the lowest setting there was about 8" between wheel arch and wheel

Took an inch off the strut pins with ye olde angle grinder and she's sitting nice again, I don't feel like one of the Beverly Hillbillies any more

Fitted the passengers door trim, made trim sections to fit in the RH side of the cluster, made a divider to fit the front of the drivers door bin to keep the little bottle of valve oil upright, made a sexy polished alloy tip for the hydraulic handbrake and put the freshly (yesterday) painted flares in the sun to bake.

I actually did some work after about 12 months of nothing, although at the time it was only negative progress towards internal boot hinges. But I think some of that is because my bottom boot lip is slightly bent outwards (hitting the bootlid on opening with internal hinges)

As usual i will look upon my mini and say "it is good". 8)

Not a great deal, my engine for Elle' is coming along slowly. Heads being
played with as we speak, engine is a complete short motor and gear box
still to be rebuilt.... I pulled the battery out of the car and put it on charge to try
and save it from dying to tradgic death of no charge tonight, so i guess that
was something i've done today.....
