What oil U got? Running in oil is thin shit- next change put some decent 20W/50 or thicker in it. 8)
I run Castrol` Formula R' 25W/50 ( the old GP50).

Penrite HPR30 I believe. The first oil/filter change should happen pretty quickly shouldn't it? How many miles do u guys reckon?

Didn't get a chance to get it out this arvo... been trying to sort out the clutch. I know its been adjusted twice since the engine was put in. It's a brand new clutch so thats standard apparently. The shifting was getting a little bit sticky and I crunched the down shift into 2nd pretty hard coming home this morning (doing less than 25mph) so I decided to bleed the fluid, it was getting pretty ugly, and then readjust it.

HPR30 is OK too. I used to use it. I'd change it and the filter at 300 miles or so.
If you do much highway running in Qld, or track work, I'd consider a 13 row oil cooler.
Only $120 or so from Karcraft, + hoses. I used 400psi hydraulic hose and push-on fittings, from Pirtek.
Fittings are re-useable.

I changed the oil earlier this week and the pressure is up about 10psi. Starts out on about 70psi, sits pretty steady on ~50 after everything is warmed up. So that seems to be under control.

Temperature is still a little bit concerning when I get stuck at a few sets of lights. I'll have a go at flushing the radiator myself over the weekend & change the coolant. If that doesn't work out for the best, I'll have the tanks off the rad & get it cleaned out by a pro.

STILL waiting on Lynx to come through with my air filter so I can't run the dellorto. I'm seriously annoyed with this cause I was told I'd have it last Monday. Hopefully it will show up soon. I'm considering buying a new linkage kit from Redline too. The plastic lynx one is looking a little bit tired and I think Kev said the redline is a better quality setup. I emailed their support and they said:

Quote:
Our linkage kit 42-2505 does suit the 12-3005 manifold, however it has
the lever arms to suit the DCOE Weber and they are different to the
Dellorto, everything else would work though.

Has anybody purchased this kit? Any opinions?

I'm pretty sure that the 42-2505 linkage kit will work with your Dellorto, it's what i'm looking at buying..

Dewey,
It'll work with a Dellorto, same as Lynx one does- just need to use Dellorto arm or mod the one in the kit.
BTW I have a new Ramflo 445 P5S filter here if you want it.

Thanks Doc but I just spent the cash I'd set aside for the filter on some Inner Circle rum.
 It's a cracker, bit smoother than bundy... not as mellow as the Jamaician rum. Fit for a friday arvo :)

Hopefully I'll get hold of the filter & the linkage kit next week.

The 1275 project is pretty much wrapped up.

I've got the dellorto strapped on and everything is going alright. A few niggles to sort out and some rerouting of wires/hoses here and there. Other than that its cool.

I've got a bit of a weird one with the clutch at the moment. When the engine is warmed up and I drop the clutch pedal to disengage the clutch (gear in neutral), the engine revs drop away big time and the car seems like its about to stall. Does anybody know what this could be, I'm stumped.

Could be crank's thrust washers are fitted back to front (hope not.. ) or clutch release bearing is shafted (will be noisy if so).

What diaphrahm is in it?
Stock S (blue dot) 8)
Rally (orange)
Race (grey)
Race OTT (double grey..)
??
