Chong, you aren't supposed to leave da fuel in da car for 3 months like you just did. It ain't 98 anymore, it's more like kero. :lol:


Sorry to hijack slightly but I was wondering why don't you leave fuel in the car and not use it I realise the octane will be dramatically lowered however what other side effects can occur. What would happen if it wasn't 3 months but a shjorter amount of time say 1 month for example. Sorry but this is a question I've been meaning to ask but never got around to it.

Zack, it's just that the octane lowers from the day you fill it. High octane fuel relies on aromatic hydrocarbons these days (instead of tetraethyl lead) to increase the octane rating, and these are the first things to evaporate out. :lol:

If you MUST park the car for long periods it's best to do so do so with minimum fuel in, then top up before use. :wink:
