That's the best reason for using anything i reckon. Why spend when you can save
Will it be worth modding the float bowl ala GR's HS? NOt that i can see wendy ever needing more fuel going off to the shops to do the shoppping. But maybe to save detonation of a motor if she gets an itchy righ foot.
Cheers

Yes Aaron, I'll get GR to GR the floatbowl... and the van will be getting a new 5/16" fuel line when I convert it to hydro luxury.

What does Graham do to the float bowl?

I have three 48mm Dellortos, I really should build something to go with them.

I believe he drills out the float valve or something, going on what I've heard.

Has anyone ever tried running an a series backwards? YOu know 3 dellorto's up the exhaust, reverse the firing order and open pipes out the inlets..... Yeah dumb idea.... but wouldn't it be a great you tube video

That was a common mod with Ford 100E motors. It worked. They had 4 exhausts though.

OK I've pulled the head off again as it makes it easier to invert the motor and drop the gearbox on.
Here's pics of the 12G1316 (off 1275 Moke) head.
Valves are MK2 S. Head is ported by me a la Vizard, I even hit water where he says you do.
Valve springs are Minispares C-AEA526. 1.46:1 rockers by Mr Toyota.

That is yummy! I wish my head looked like that. I can't wait to see the numbers it throws up on the dyno.

That head above has about 50 or so hours of my time in it, mind you I did it years ago when my eyesight was better!
Here's another 12G1316 I've just tickled up for my 1132 Moke, which will have the block notched to suit-

Doc what you need is one of those CNC Mills. Bolt the head in, turn the computer on and walk away :D

Serious question - can you set the computer on those by scanning a head that has already been ported?

In simplistic terms, yes, you can scan a 3d object with a laser scanner, convert it to CNC instructions and set the mill to do as many copies as you'd want. In practice its a bit more involved than that, but once you have it set up and save the instructions, you can just churn them out like sausages.

You might still want to hand finish them, to keep the non-believers happy.

Not only that it also the Expence for some one to do the Numbers
The Machine may cost $$$$
but also the labour to add in the numbers :?
If you were to go to this extent you would have to think of the amount of heads you would need to do and the amount of proffit from the Complette total
this is why the 7, 8 port heads and the 5 gearbox (not exactly) are not readly avalible now,

50 Hours to most people that require a result is nothing except your own time

I doubt you would do all up inside the A series ports on a CNC mill without lots of hand finishing.
Chambers yes, and the ends of the ports, no problem.
