Could be fun , rock up with it on the trailer with smaller flares on it and 13 X 8" slicks , take the spoiler and race numbers off and make it look like a road mini (except for the slicks of course) and watch peoples faces as it took off . Wonder what sort of times it could be possible of with the right driver ?

<EDIT> Check out the first listed question ,

Quote:
Q: does it come with a roadworthy? is this the original engine? 25-Aug-07
A: no & no

I know the Car and I know Trev. Nothing to with Gulson. Trev built it himself. I would buy it if I had the money. It needs to be further developed but with something as radical as this would be an excellent start and a fantastic club racer. Built along similar lines to the Hume brother rotary Sports sedan except they ran a Hewland tranaxle

I don't s'pose Trev could be persuaded to bring it up to Wakefield for the MRA Grand Final (2nd 3rd Sept 2007) 8)

Word on th e local grapevine is Trev's bought a converted coach motorhome and is off around Australia. Hence the shed clear-out.

Surprisingly no! Because the motor is mounted next to the drivers legs the weight distribution would be better than a Mini.
All you have in front of the front wheel centreline is the gearbox, the diff is on the centreline and the clutch and motor are behind.

Yes, but the Porsche gearbox is heavier than a Mini box.

Good ol' 10A, I'll ask my dad when he gets back form Fiji, but he had a 4 door RX3, after his Daimler 250V8. He said it went through engines like anything! He says they were 10A's, but could quite well ave been 12A's.

But for a race car, who cares if you don't get as much life as a good piston engine!

...and it's probably worth more than the asking price for the car.

Trev fitted the 10A to comply with Under 2 litre regs. It was used mainly for Hillclimbing and club sprints. Never circuit raced and would'nt have complied with Supermini regs. The Hume brothers car, which I assume was the Gulson car had a 13B and ran in open sports sedans. Anyone got a picture of this car?

He's bought a bus and having a fire sale due to change of life. Everythings going.

According to what I've read the 13B (and possibly the 12A) was far superior to the 10A. On a road engine my Dad said he got less then 20,000s Kms per engine for the 2 engines it had, but they were fast.

I've also read if they are treated with respect an not revved to 10,000 on gear changes they are a good motor, but why would you do that when you have a rotary for that purpose.

{note, I am only going on word of mouth and literature, no personal experience}
