Ok, so after a little mishap involving beaching my car getting on/off an unfamiliar car trailer the other weekend. Ive slightly flattened a small section of my exhaust pipe. It really is only very minor.

So i was thinking bout replacing the entire system. At the momment its got 3-2-1 LCB extractors, into 2in pipe, to a straight through stainless muffler, then a hotdog, centre exit. Motor is 1330cc, GR head/cam.

I was considering downsizing to 1 3/4in pipe and possibly an RC-40 muffler? I still want it very loud though. At the momment its loud, but has a bit of a rasp to it.

Who has had experience with RC-40? Is there different versions with more or less baffling?

RC40 exhausts give off a great sound and give decent/good HP rating too. I'd use LCB's but keep the 2" pipe. If you like loud then 1 3/4 will more than likely deaden the sound compared to what your running now, or goto the 1 3/4 but remove your hotdog. IMO

edit: My system in the LS was 3-1's into RC40 using 1 3/4, loud enough mate that people now your home again as AEG163job said.

I use 1&3/4 system running off maniflow extractors and RC 40 box. Less backpressure than std. S system. Noisy enough to remind neighbours when you arrive home, but not noisy from inside the car and doesn't attract the attention of authorities

I find the RC40 quite quiet but good for power - actually my dellorto makes more induction noise than the exhaust makes 8)

Mine is a Single box RC40 1.75"

Listen here 8)

The single box RC40 is a bit louder than the twin box. Both are good systems. They last well too- I just upgraded mine on the 1360 to a full 2" system, but the old RC40 is not rusted out yet after 10 years. It might go on the van yet. 8)

stainless exhausts are louder allegedly, also as SS expands far more with heat the LCBs tend to crack.
I'd stick to the plain steel, if you must Bling it get the manifold jet-hot ceramic coated or similar.

Have u heard my car?

No flexi joint. Its one solid piece from the extractors to the tip, its all welded together, n held up by 2 seperate rubber mounts at front/rear of rear subframe, and solid bracket to the diff housing.
