Yes they are very reliable, the +.040" ones are of similar design to a Hepolite 21253, but stronger- as the oil drain slots are smaller.

The 73.0mm ones (+.094") are similar design but even stronger as they use oil drain holes, not slots.
Many people use them for racing, they are a strong piston.
My rebuilt 1360 has them, it has now done about 5000 miles and is using NO oil. 8)

hi,

thanks a lot for your information.

do you think they are reliable for more than 80 000 miles? because I use my mini not often , but when I use it, I run about 12h at 3800 rpm to cross france ( 630 miles ) or for imm and now for my event ( morocco mini raid in north of africa.

regards

I believe you will not find a better piston for life, they have a high silicon content and will last much better than forged ones for road use.

I'm using an early 12G1505 large journal (still std/std size) 1275 crank, the rod journals have been offset ground to 1.625". It's now 84.33mm stroke.
Also I've wedged it, and had it balanced.
Conrods are Cooper S. 8)
